Campaign to Re-Elect Mayor David Holt Tops $500,000
With candidate filing now just four months away, the campaign to re-elect David Holt as Mayor of Oklahoma City is reporting it has raised the second-highest amount in Oklahoma City electoral history. “Holt for OKC 2022” filed its second-quarter fundraising report, showing it has raised $545,090.35 for the 2022 campaign and still has $496,326.59 cash-on-hand.
In Oklahoma City campaign history, the total raised by Holt’s committee thus far is second only to the final amount raised by Mayor Mick Cornett in 2014. Holt’s 2022 fundraising total has already exceeded what Holt’s campaign raised in 2018 when he was elected with 78 percent of the vote.
“It is certainly heartening to see the positive polls and the donations,” said Mayor Holt. “Visiting with residents the past few months, it is clear they are pleased with what our city has accomplished and where we are heading. We have worked together as ‘One OKC’ to create one of the nation’s strongest economies with one of the lowest unemployment rates, to launch MAPS 4, to improve our streets, and to strengthen public safety. Our residents clearly want to continue this momentum.”
The campaign to re-elect Mayor Holt in 2022 carried forward $25,858.25 from the 2018 campaign, raised $276,893 in the first quarter of 2021 and $242,339.10 in the second quarter.
A recent publicly-released poll by CHS & Associates showed that a majority of Oklahoma City voters are already committed to voting for Mayor Holt’s re-election, with Mayor Holt enjoying high favorability among both Republicans and Democrats.
